General Description
The Executive Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing confidential and critical
administrative and secretarial duties in support of the Executive Director of the Office of Gaming
Regulation & Compliance.


Qualifications

  1. Associates degree (or higher) and two (2) years administrative experience required.
  2. Three (3) years gaming regulatory experience or two (2) years of experience in a gaming area of
    casino operations preferred.
  3. GRA experience preferred.
  4. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in a professional and respectful manner.
  5. Strong personal computer skills in Microsoft Office environment, including Excel, Word, Publishing,
    Access, and general office support applications.
  6. Familiarity with and ability to operate various office equipment including fax machines, dictation
    equipment, and copiers.
  7. Ability to understand financial concepts and apply them to the maintenance of a budget.
  8. Ability to interpret and understand federal, state and tribal gaming regulations, as they pertain to the
    OGR&C and the GRA.
  9. Capable of maintaining accurate records.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  11. Ability to understand and follow directions.
  12. Experience with and understanding of Native American culture and is able to demonstrate cultural
    sensitivity.
  13. Must pass pre-employment testing.
  14. Must have strong moral character.
  15. Must be able to obtain a Primary Management Official (PMO) Gaming License.
  16. Must have current valid Minnesota driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
  17. Must disclose immediate family members and household members working for Mille Lacs Corporate
    Ventures, the Gaming Enterprises and the GRA to avoid potential conflicts.

    Duties
  18. Has access to and handles confidential materials; including personnel files, investigations files, and
    other sensitive information.
  19. Makes arrangements for meetings, travel, and special events.
  20. Produces, composes, and edits correspondence, manuscripts, minutes, and other materials.
  21. Performs general office support responsibilities; such as answering phones, screening calls and taking
    messages; reviewing, sorting, and distributing incoming mail; filing; operating copiers and various
    other office machines.
  22. Schedules and arranges complex appointment calendars.
  23. Assists in preparation of budget and budget revisions.
  24. Assists in the posting of job positions available within the department, as well as the preparation for
    the interviews, and any resulting paperwork.
  25. Prepares the weekly payroll spreadsheets and maintains payroll records.
  26. Maintains department supplies for both office locations.
  27. Duties for Gaming Regulatory Authority Board include dissemination of information for
    correspondence, meetings, travel, mileage, timesheets, and personnel issues.
  28. Assist in reviews and organization of regulatory-required gaming operation data submissions.
  29. Hours of work are typically 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility and the possibility
    of extra hours due to workload or deadlines.
  30. Local travel is required; minimal out of state travel is also required.
  31. Other duties as assigned.
