Exciting things are happening for the Mille Lacs Band Health Services branch!
Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Health Services is excited to announce we are transitioning to a new electronic health record (EHR). An Electronic Health Record (EHR) is the system that tracks medical history and patient data. The new EHR system within our Health Services is called Epic. We have partnered with CentraCare as a community connect partner. As a community connect partner, CentraCare will provide guidance and support throughout this transition process as we share an EHR system. This also means that there will be sharing within the EHR system that allows for better communication and collaboration.
This transition to Epic will improve patient care and will allow patients/clients to be more active in their healthcare journey through an increased ability to manage multiple aspects of their healthcare on an online portal called MyChart. Staff will be available to make this a smooth transition process and answer questions as needed.
What are some of the benefits of Epic and signing up for MyChart?
- The new software will make scheduling easier.
- Through MyChart, patients will have 24/7 access to schedule an appointment, access their health records, check test results, send medical messages, request medication re-fills, complete online questionnaires, use e-Check in for appointments, and manage personal information.
- Clients/Patients will be able to make payments online.
- The EHR will speed up staff workflow, giving them more time to interact with patients.
- Telehealth will become easier for patients to access.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Ne-Ia-Shing clinic at 320-532-4163.
We look forward to serving the community with this new technology!
