SALARY RANGE: $40,800.00-$61,200.00

SUMMARY:
The Facilitator provides initial case planning along with ongoing case management services to clients with issues preventing them from reaching self-reliance and self-sufficiency, including; homelessness, chemical dependency, and mental health issues. The Facilitator is responsible to provide or assist in providing relevant instruction to adult and youth clients that advance the purposes of the program grant.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
• One (1) to three (3) years’ experience working with at risk Native American Adults preferred.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of a client support method.
• Knowledge of and respect for Mille Lacs Band traditions and customs.
• Knowledge and experience working with Native American communities, culture, customs and cultural law.
• Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality with respect to clients to maintain integrity of program.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to write effectively.
• Basic computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Windows and Word.
• Must adhere to confidential information in accordance with Data Privacy Act.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to assist design and teach or facilitate groups of adults or one-on-one tutoring.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients, participants, staff and partners.
• Must have current driver’s license.
• Must be insurable under the Mille Lacs Band Drivers Insurance policy.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Hours may vary depending on departmental needs and may include evenings and weekends.
• This positions is grant funded and is dependent upon the continued funding of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe’s P.L 102-477 grants program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in or conduct a variety of client support processes.
• Coordinate client services with Case Managers.
• Collaborate with others in the development and implementation of the philosophy and mission of the program.
• Evaluate case plan progress, develop and implement plan modifications as appropriate.
• Collect, organize, and present professional observations to other mental health staff and Case Managers.
• Consult with parents, other caregivers, and other Band personnel in dealing with client’s behavioral, emotional, living, and health issues.
• Develop aftercare and follow-up programs.
• Prepare records and progress summaries for all clients.
• Make home or agency visits as necessary.
• Assist in development and delivery of education programs for the community.
• Provide 24-hour on-call crisis evaluation and intervention as needed.
• Assist overseeing learning lab/computer lab is used for education and job search.
• Educate and assist clients with resume and cover letter when needed.
• Assist in administering assessments required by caseworkers.
• Educate and assist clients with FAFSA and online applications when necessary.
• Assist Instructors in educating and administering GED requirements to clients.
• Assist with transportation arrangements for programming requirements with staff driver when necessary.
• Data collections, maintain records, and compile reports on the utilization of the program.
• Maintain a filing system of the records of the program participants.
• Represents departments and Mille Lacs Band at conferences and seminars.
• Others duties as assigned by supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Nature of work is such those incumbent experiences regular periods of moderate to high stress levels in dealing with client issues.
• Work is primarily in doors in a controlled climate area.
• Some threat of personal danger or risk.
• Hours are typically 8-5, but extra hours may be necessary to meet deadlines and maintain workload. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
• 24-hour on-call may be required for emergency situations.
• Local travel is required.
