SALARY RANGE: $53,768.00-$80,652.00

SUMMARY:
The Noojimo’wiigamig Inaawanidiwag - Family Healing to Wellness Court (“FHTWC”) Coordinator will facilitate the planning, management and coordination of activities of the Mille Lacs Band Family Healing to Wellness Court. The FHTWC is a specialized docket of the Court of Central Jurisdiction which uses a collaborative team approach to assist court-involved individuals seeking to recover from addiction to alcohol and other substances. The Court Coordinator serves as the liaison for the FHTWC team members and has a lead role in coordinating Team tasks. The work involves program planning and organizing, collaboration and team-building, data collection and reporting, and community outreach activities by ensuring compliance with the key components and the FHTWC mission. This position also serves as a back-up to the Case Manager by assisting with participants needs and community resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Public, Business or Court Administration, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or relevant field
required.
• Three years of experience in Public, Court, Criminal Justice administration or three years working experience in addictions,
treatment, monitoring or counseling environment required. Comparable education and experience will be considered.
• Familiarity with the concepts of addiction, substance use disorder, chemical dependency treatment and addiction recovery
and mental health therapy, required.
• Knowledge of grant administration, reporting requirements and budgetary competences, required.
• Knowledge of child abuse and neglect court case processes and the federal Indian Child Welfare Act, 25 U.S.C. § 1901 et
seq., desirable.
• Experience in developing effective working relationships, leading and participating on a team in a professional setting
required.
• Cultural competence in the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe’s culture, customs and traditions.
• Excellent writing skills and communications required.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong personal computer skills in a Windows and Microsoft Office environment, and ability to use various software
applications, such as case management software.
• Must be willing to attend and travel to the necessary court trainings, seminars and webinars, as required.
• Must have a valid current driver license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
• Must be insurable under the Mille Lacs Band Drivers Insurance policy.
• Must pass a background check with no felony convictions within the past 10 years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides limited work direction to the Healing to Wellness Court Team under the direction of the Judicial Officer and the
Court Administrator.
• Plans, implements, and monitors the day-to-day activities of the FHTWC.
• Serves on the FHTWC multidisciplinary team and assists the Judicial Officer with facilitating case staffing meetings.
• Secures participant incentives to reward success and recommends service or therapeutic adjustments to hold participants
accountable for program non-compliance as determined by the FHTWC team.
• In conjunction with the Court Administrator, is responsible for the FHTWC budget preparation, monitoring of
expenditures, and timely submission of grant reports.
• In collaboration with the FHTWC Team, develops FHTWC policies, procedures, forms, participant guides, and other
informational materials.
• Responsible for scheduling FHTWC Team case staffings and meetings, developing agendas, and coordinating with the
FHTWC case manager to provide participant status reports to the Team in advance of staffings and status hearings.
• Develops community presentations, promotes team cooperation, identifies community resources, and cultural
opportunities for participants engagement.
• Serves as a liaison between treatment providers, the FHTWC team and the FHTWC Steering Committee.
• Provides orientation to any new FHTWC team members or Steering Committee members.
• Assist the Case Manager in facilitates referrals and admissions of participants to treatment programs, drug testing sites
and other recovery services.
• Coordinates contracts and makes necessary payment arrangements for the collection and lab drug testing sites.
• Coordinates participant’s phasing up, arranges cultural events according to the phases, and arranging participant’s
graduation.
• Collects and maintains all statistical data necessary for Band and federal grant reporting and measure results for success
and identify areas needing improvement.
• Conducts an annual evaluation of the FHTWC program and creates an annual report of the FHTWC progress which is
included in the overall Judicial Report.
• Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with treatment providers, community organizations, local drug courts,
probation departments and other social services agencies.
• Develops, attends, and participates in relevant trainings, conferences, meetings and committees. Organizes and facilitates
FHTWC Team attendance at trainings and conferences.
• Identifies and recommends grant and other funding opportunities to sustain the FHTWC and participates in the grant
application development.
• Responsible for ensuring processes and operations used in the FHTWC comply with established program goals.
• Consults with FHTWC Judicial Officer and Court Administrator on a wide range of organizational and managerial issues,
including FHTWC effectiveness and internal and external quality assurance to meet the key components and the FHTWC
mission.
• Performs additional various diverse tasks and assignments as may be required in connection with the successful
operations of the FHTWC.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Nature of work is such that incumbent experiences regular periods of moderate stress levels. Primary sources of stress are
in dealing with FHTWC participants’ needs and issues, and the program workload, and timelines.
• Work is almost exclusively indoors in a controlled climate area.
• Little threat of personal danger or risk.
• Hours are typically 8-5, but extra hours may be necessary to meet participants’ needs. May involve some evening or
weekend working.
• Local travel is required, limited travel outside the state is also required.
