Information Technology Technician

SALARY RANGE: $19.00 - $34.37

SUMMARY:
The IT technician will work in partnership with our managed service vendor and IT Director to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology to support inter-operability and sustainability of operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate degree in electronics or computer technology is highly preferred; will consider relevant experience commensurate with the ability to successfully function within the role.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and work in a team environment or solo on assigned work projects.

Demonstrated personal computer skills in a Windows operating system, including Microsoft O365 and general office support applications.
• Demonstrated understanding of regulatory standards of privacy and security in the healthcare technology environment.
• Demonstrated strong inter-personal skills.
• Demonstrated diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to organize work to meet deadlines and user demands.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Mille Lacs Band Insurance policy.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• In collaboration with Director and managed service vendor troubleshoot and repair/resolve problems with hardware and software.
• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
• In collaboration with the director and/or managed service vendor will install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications and industry standards.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
• In collaboration with department director provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
• Collaborates with managed service vendor to responds to and resolves end user problems
• Works collaboratively with department director and managed service vendor to installs equipment and software.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Work is almost exclusively indoors in a controlled climate area.
• Hours are typically 8-5, but possibly with some extra hours. May involve some evening or weekend working.
• Moderate amount of stress can occur related to timelines and working with a diverse workforce with varied limits of technology understanding.
• Local travel is required; travel outside the state is very limited.
