SALARY RANGE: $17.00 to $25.50

SUMMARY:
The Main Receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors and callers: and directing them to the appropriate personnel. The Main Receptionist provides administrative support for the Human Resources staff and limited support for Government Center staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Three-Five years’ experience as a receptionist; OR successful completion of a related AanjiBimaadizing Work Experience placement and certificates in training on phone etiquette, multi-line phones, customer service, computer skills, principles of confidentiality or any other administrative training.
• Ability to handle highly confidential personnel information is required.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to do basic math.
• Familiarity with and ability to operate a complex PBX (telephone switching) system.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with and ability to operate various office equipment, including fax machines, photo copying machines, etc.
• Must have computer skills working in a Microsoft environment, including Excel spreadsheet, Word applications and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Laserfiche program preferred.
• Knowledge of basic filing systems preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operates PBX telephone console to receive incoming messages.
• Answers phones, obtains caller's name when necessary and take messages.
• Directs caller to destination and records name, time of call, nature of business, and person called upon.
• Page employees or visitors and announce events or notices when necessary.
• Assists with scanning and data entry in to Laserfiche.
• Assists with fine sorting personnel documents to prepare them for scanning.
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of documents and knowing when to

• Collects and distributes messages.
• Assist in the mailroom as required.
• Maintain and updates various lists and databases.
• Schedules the use of meeting and conference rooms within the Government Center.
• Performs variety of clerical duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Nature of work is such that incumbent experiences infrequent period of moderate to high stress levels due to current workload of visitors and callers. Agitated or distressed callers/visitors may also be a source of stress.
• Work is exclusively in doors in a controlled climate area.
• Little threat of personal danger or risk.
• Hours are typically 8-5, but possibly with some extra hours
• Travel is not required.
